Learning guitar for the first time is scary, downright daunting, and sometimes frustrating. Even though these feelings may arise, we must be willing to endure them to achieve the lifelong payoff and joy that comes with being able to, one day, play the instrument effortlessly. I'm not here to say you need to become a guitar "master" or virtuoso, but the initial stage should involve deciding what you want out of learning it. What makes you want to play? What are your motivations behind learning how to play? These powerful reasons for giving you the desire to play guitar will assist you in enduring much of the needed groundwork in getting to the high place you want to reach. Although this work is required of you, my goal is to make it as satisfying and rewarding for you as possible. After all, your lessons are about you and what inspires you. While developing the physical skills or playing proficiency you desire, it is also important to learn some of the underlying theory of music. This is purely because in doing so, you will be able to enjoy playing guitar to the greatest extent possible. I like to approach teaching guitar in a simplistic way that makes others feel comfortable and at ease. Learning must be a rewarding experience at least part of the time and this is what I plan to help beginners achieve. It's time to determine your goals for playing the guitar.
